Jargon: Corporate Strategy, Planned, Emergent, Vision, Missions, Goals and objectives
Strategy is a set of long term decisions which attempt to acheive the outcomes of the organisation. These are usually defined using:
Mission – Purpose and what the organisation wants to be
Vision – The disired future state
Goal – Aim or outcomes
Objective – Quantified statement of a goal
Activity: Try and find or define this for your business.
Emergent strategy is reaction based, usually in a chaotic environment. Strategy is formed through experimentation and learning. Planned strategy involves allocating resources acoording to decisions that need to be stuck to.
Business culture ia also linked to strategy which is effectively “how things are done around here”
